Nadine Dumas
From “Business Suits to Bikini Bottoms” that was the headline in a (2008) Supreme Living Magazine that introduced the world to Nadine Dumas. Three years later and it still couldn’t be any closer to the truth for this Canadian, 29 year old international fitness/swimsuit model and accomplished entrepreneur.
Dumas started her corporate career at a very young age, working for one of the top accounting firms in the world, and at just 25 years old Nadine decided to pack her bags, and head straight for one of the most sought after places on earth to continue her career – the Cayman Islands.
Dumas spent 2 years in Cayman furthering her corporate career and at the same time developed a passion for the fitness industry. It was in 2007 after winning the overall title of the Caribbean Grand Prix Natural Show that she decided to head back to Canada and pursue the fitness industry even further.
Dumas, called Calgary, Alberta, Canada home and over the next 3 years accomplished what most would only dream of doing. She graced the cover of 2 International magazines, co-owned a bodybuilding federation, competed in the North American Best Body Swimsuit won the overall title, then continued to the Worlds and placed 2nd overall. She also became the first Canadian female to ever be sponsored by one of the largest supplement companies, MHP (Maximum Human Performance). To this day she continues her work as a Brand Ambassador for MHP.
During those 3 years Dumas actively remained in the fitness industry from the standpoint of reaching out to competitors. From newcomers to seasoned-veterans, Nadine Dumas coached and continues to coach fitness competitors getting them stage-ready as well as mentally-prepared, post-competition. Dumas’ own personal experiences with competing made her realize the need for more in-depth coaching in the industry and she launched Perfect Presentations™.
Perfect Presentations™ was one of Dumas’ first companies; an informative workshop that competitors from any/all fitness federations can attend to learn everything they need to know before hitting the stage. From suit selection, make-up, hair tips to stage presence, posing and the mandatory stage ’T walk’.
After a few successful years and numerous client achievements, Dumas found that a large number of her clients would contact her after coming off stage and heading into their off-season with post-competition issues.
It was then that she saw the need for another area of coaching and she founded the Life After Competing™ workshops. The Life After Competing™ workshops are designed for competitors, future competitors, trainers and family members to understand and be educated on post-competition issues ranging from obsession, depression, eating disorders and goal setting.
Currently Nadine tours with a team of industry experts throughout North America to coach fitness competitors into a successful off-season and will be hitting the Toronto scene this month at the Inside Fitness Magazine headquarters, Thursday, August 26th from 6-9 p.m. For more information on these workshops please contact Nadine Dumas at
