Tobias Young
Tobias is a California native that is no stranger to the gym atmosphere. Growing up as a young boy, he used to watch the Incredible Hulk TV show with Lou Ferrigno. Little 5 year old Tobias (acting as if he was the Hulk) would run around the house flexing and ripping off his shirt wishing that some day he could be like the Hulk.
As Tobias got older, he became very active in sports. Tobias excelled in baseball, soccer, wrestling (team captain), JC football, and jiu jitsu. At the tender age of 12, Tobias was introduced to the gym by his big brother from the Big Brothers Program and has been hooked ever since.
In college, Tobias wanted to further his quest for education in fitness and he received his double associates degree in Nutrition and Kinesiology. In 1999 Tobias landed his first gym job as a Personal Trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. Within 3 months, he was promoted to assistant Fitness Manager. Another 4 months later he was named Fitness Manager of his own club. Tobias Young then furthered his education with five additional national level training certifications and has taken over a dozen continuing education courses on fitness and nutrition. Since then, he has worked in several of the top clubs in San Diego and the Modesto areas. Currently, Tobias is the General Manager of one of the nicest gyms in all of Central Valley California, Modesto Sport In Shape.
In his spare time, Tobias enjoys competing in bodybuilding, helping others with contest prep, working out, photo shoots, barbequing in his back yard, traveling, and being a great husband and father.
Not watching too much television, Tobias still manages to watch almost every 49ers game and UFC.
Almost three years ago Tobias was blessed to be sponsored by his favorite supplement company, Optimum Nutrition. In fact, over the past 3 years Optimum Nutrition(ON) and sister company American Bodybuilding(ABB) have featured several ads with Tobias Young in every major fitness magazine around. You may have also seen Tobias in a couple of workout spreads for Muscle and fitness as well as a workout video with FLEX magazine.
Just scratching the surface of his potential, Tobias wants to be an inspiration to others and help lead the way to making health and fitness a way of life. I’m sure we will be seeing much more of him in the future.
