Hey Jennifer!

That sucks you are sick while trying to train for a show. You are not alone! I've had the flu before during contest prep. It was like ants were in my pants, I was so anxious to get back at it! I took a week off weight training, slept as much as possible, did light cardio (walking on the treadmill) when able, and didn't stick directly to my diet but keep everything clean and drank tons of water/green tea. Whenever I slack on my vitamins I often get a cold, and I have this new obsession with disinfecting my hands after being at the gym. It's definitely hard to stay motivated and focused when you feel like crap, but I always feel better with some extra sleep. If it's nothing major I usually still go to the gym, but just train at a more calm steady pace...nothing kills the motivation more than feeling like you're moving away from your goals instead of towards them. Baby steps are better than no steps, right?! Maybe you should check with your Doc since it's been 3 weeks....?

Congrats on deciding to compete, and just think, once you are better you'll be so motivated and ready to kick some butt in the gym! The final weeks will fly by!

Thank you so much for replying and the words of encouragement! I just got back to the gym yesterday and back to the diet as well even though I am still coughing! I plan on kicking butt and that would be mine of coarse haha
